The BQ25180YBGR is a single-cell linear charger IC from Texas Instruments that delivers up to 1 A programmable charge current and supports both Li-ion/Li-polymer and LiFePO4 chemistries. I²C interface gives the host control over charge current, termination voltage, and safety timer — no external resistor dividers needed for the basic profile. The 8-DSBGA package measures 1.6x1.1 mm.

125°C junction and fault protection envelope

Built-in fault protection covers over-current, over-temperature, over-voltage, and short-circuit — the IC handles the shutdown autonomously, no external supervisor needed. Maximum supply voltage is 5.5 V; the battery pack voltage is set to 4.6 V, which is the termination ceiling for a single Li-ion cell or a 4S LiFePO4 stack.
