The BQ25170DSGR is a linear battery charger from the BQ25170 series, supporting multi-chemistry cells with a programmable charge current up to 800 mA. The input supply maximum of 6.6 V sets the ceiling for the wall adapter or USB rail. Constant-current constant-voltage (CC/CV) charging with programmable current and voltage targets. Fault protection covers overcurrent, overtemperature, overvoltage, and short-circuit events.
Charge current and package thermal budget
The 800 mA maximum charge current is the headline rating a procurement or design engineer compares first. The 4.4 V battery pack voltage targets single-cell Li-ion or LiFePO4 applications. The device charges a single cell and accepts multiple chemistries, so the same BOM line can serve products with different battery types by adjusting the resistor-divider network.
