NRND — what it means for the BOM
Texas Instruments has marked the BQ25120YFPR as NRND (Not Recommended for New Designs). That means it is still available for existing production, but TI is signaling a future end-of-life — no new board spins should land on this part number.
300 mA charge current, I²C control, 5.5 V input ceiling
The BQ25120YFPR is a single-cell linear charger for Li-Ion and Li-Polymer packs, with a programmable constant-current charge up to 300 mA max and a termination voltage of 4.2 V. The input supply max is 5.5 V — a standard USB or 5 V rail works, but a 5% tolerance rail at 5.25 V still leaves headroom. The I²C interface lets the host set the charge current and read fault flags, which is useful for systems that need to throttle charge rate based on thermal or input-power budget. Housed in a 25-bump DSBGA (0.4 mm pitch, 2.2 mm × 2.2 mm body), the package is tiny — the sort of footprint you'd see on a wearable or a small IoT sensor board.

For a BOM that already carries the BQ25120YFPR, the part is sourced to order through independent distribution. If you are supporting a fielded product, this is the time to secure a last-time-buy or qualify a drop-in replacement.
