250 mA linear charger in a 1.2 mm² footprint
The BQ25101YFPT from Texas Instruments is a single-cell Li-Ion/Polymer linear battery charger delivering a programmable charge current up to 250 mA maximum. It integrates over-temperature, over-voltage, and short-circuit fault protection, reducing the external component count for a compact charging solution.
Charge current and protection thresholds
The charge current is programmable up to 250 mA maximum, and the battery regulation voltage is fixed at 4.2 V for single-cell Li-Po and Li-Ion cells. Fault protection is built in: over-temperature shutdown, over-voltage clamp, and short-circuit current limiting.
Package and mounting
Housed in a 6-bump DSBGA package on a 6-XFBGA substrate. The footprint suits wearable, hearable, and IoT end-nodes where PCB real estate is tight. Surface-mount assembly with a standard lead-free reflow profile.
The maximum supply voltage is 6.45 V, allowing direct connection to a 5 V USB bus or a regulated 5 V rail without an external LDO.
