Single-cell Li-ion charger — 250 mA ceiling in a 6-bump package
The 6-XFBGA, DSBGA package (1.5 mm × 1.5 mm typical) fits space-constrained wearables, hearables, and IoT modules where board area is the tightest constraint. Charge current is set with a single external resistor — no I²C, no firmware. Fault protections and junction temperature envelope
Three hard-wired protections are on-chip: over-temperature, over-voltage, and short-circuit. Over-temperature shuts down the charger before the 125°C junction limit is exceeded — the die temperature, not ambient, triggers the trip. Over-voltage protects the cell from a runaway supply; short-circuit protects the input from a battery-side fault. The operating junction range of 0°C to 125°C covers industrial-grade portable enclosures, but note the 0°C floor: Li-ion charging below freezing is blocked by the protection logic. If your application charges in a cold environment (e.g., outdoor medical patch), the charger will hold off until the die warms above threshold.
