Product details

Single-cell LiFePO4 charger for automotive environments

The BQ25071QWDQCTQ1: It targets the 3.5V pack voltage plateau of LiFePO4 chemistry with a constant-current, constant-voltage charge algorithm, delivering up to 1A programmable charge current from a USB or 8V max supply rail. The 10-WSON (3x2 mm) package with wettable flank supports automated optical inspection (AOI) after reflow, a requirement for high-reliability automotive PCB assemblies.

The 1A max charge current is programmable via an external resistor, letting the design engineer set the charge rate to match the LiFePO4 cell capacity. Integrated over-temperature and over-voltage fault protection shuts down the charger if the die temperature exceeds the thermal limit or if the battery voltage rises above the safe threshold.
