LiFePO4 charge controller with 10 A ceiling
The BQ24630RGER is a switch-mode battery charge controller from Texas Instruments purpose-built for Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) chemistry. It handles 1 to 7 series cells with a maximum battery pack voltage of 26 V, and the charge current is programmable up to 10 A — enough to replenish a 7-cell, 50 Ah pack in under six hours at the full rate. The 28 V maximum supply voltage gives headroom for a regulated 24 V input rail or a loosely-tuned 19 V adapter, while the constant-current/constant-voltage profile is tailored to LiFePO4's flat voltage plateau. Fault protection covers overcurrent, overtemperature, overvoltage, and short circuit — the IC shuts down before the cell or the FETs exceed safe limits.
