The BQ24381DSGT is a single-chip Li-Ion battery protection IC from Texas Instruments, integrating over-current, over-temperature, over/under-voltage, and short-circuit detection into a single 8-WSON package.
The 8-WSON (2x2 mm) exposed-pad package requires the PCB layout engineer to connect the thermal pad to a ground-plane copper area for adequate heat spreading. The 8-WFDFN case code means the pad is on the bottom; a via array under the pad helps pull heat into the inner layers.
