What the BQ24350DSGR protects against
The BQ24350DSGR is a Texas Instruments battery protection IC designed for single-cell Lithium Ion packs. It monitors the cell for over-current, over-temperature, over-voltage, under-voltage, and short-circuit conditions, and disconnects the load or charger when a fault is detected. The protection thresholds are set internally — no external programming resistors are needed. This simplifies the BOM and reduces board area, which matters in compact handheld or portable equipment where every square millimeter counts.
Temperature range and package — where it fits
The 8-WSON (2x2) package with an exposed pad provides a low thermal resistance path to the PCB. The 2 mm × 2 mm footprint fits into space-constrained designs like wireless earbuds, smartwatches, or portable medical monitors where the battery protection circuit must tuck into the remaining board area after the cell and connector.
