The BQ24314DSGT is a single-chip battery protection IC for Lithium Ion packs, combining over-current, over-temperature, and over/under-voltage fault detection in one 8-WSON package.
Fault protection coverage and thermal envelope
The IC monitors four fault conditions: over-current, over-temperature, over-voltage, and under-voltage — a broader set than some single-function protectors that only catch over-current. The 8-WFDFN exposed pad (8-WSON 2x2) package requires a thermal land on the PCB to keep the junction within the 0°C to 125°C range during a sustained fault event.
