2.5A programmable charger for single-cell packs
The Texas Instruments BQ24273YFFT is a single-cell battery charger with a programmable constant-current charge up to 2.5A max, controlled over an I²C interface. It supports multi-chemistry cells including Li-ion and Li-polymer, with a maximum battery pack voltage of 4.44V. Integrated fault protection covers over-temperature, over-voltage, and short-circuit conditions, reducing the need for external supervisory circuitry.
I²C programmability and system integration
The I²C interface allows the host microcontroller to set charge current, termination threshold, and timer values dynamically during operation. Supply voltage range extends to 10V max, accommodating standard USB and 5V wall adapter inputs without an external pre-regulator.
