Single-cell Li-Ion charger with I²C control
The Texas Instruments BQ24270YFFR is a single-cell Lithium Ion battery charger IC in a 49-DSBGA (2.8x2.8) package. It delivers a programmable constant charge current up to 1.5 A for a 3.7 V battery pack, controlled via an I²C interface. The I²C bus lets the host system set the charge current dynamically — useful for thermal throttling or adjusting charge rate based on input power availability.
Protection and operating range
On-chip fault protection covers over-temperature, over-voltage, and short-circuit conditions, reducing the need for external monitoring components. The surface-mount DSBGA package suits compact portable equipment where board area is tight.
