Single-cell Li-Ion charger with I²C programmability
The BQ24251YFFR is a single-cell Li-Ion battery charger from Texas Instruments, controlled over an I²C interface for in-system charge-current adjustment up to 2A max. The 30-DSBGA package keeps the footprint small for space-constrained portable designs, but the 0.5mm ball pitch demands careful PCB layout and a controlled reflow profile.

This means the part is still available for existing production but is not intended for new projects. For a BOM that already uses this order code, sourcing through authorized distribution is the clean path — we can quote against your quantity and confirm current lead time at quote time.
2A charge ceiling and I²C flexibility
The 2A max charge current suits single-cell Li-Ion packs in the 1000–3000 mAh range typical of wearables and IoT gateways. The I²C interface lets the host controller set the charge current dynamically, which is useful for thermal management or charging from a current-limited USB source. The battery regulation voltage is fixed at 4.2V, the standard termination for Li-Ion cells. The programmable feature set is limited to charge current — no voltage or timer programmability.
