The Texas Instruments BQ24204DGNR is a linear battery charger IC for single-cell Lithium Ion or Polymer packs. It delivers a constant charge current up to 500 mA and terminates at 4.2 V. Input supply can go as high as 13.5 V.

Built-in protection and programmable timer

Fault protection includes over-temperature shutdown and short-circuit detection, both handled on-chip without external comparators. The charge current and charge-termination timer are programmable, giving the designer control over the charging profile for different cell capacities.
