Charge current and thermal design
The 2.5 A maximum charge current sets the power-stage budget for a single 3.7 V Li-ion cell. The I²C interface allows the host to adjust the charge current, termination voltage, and safety timers on the fly — useful for multi-chemistry support or thermal-throttling in tight enclosures.
Supply voltage and protection
Maximum supply voltage is 10 V, so the part can run from a standard 5 V USB bus or a 9 V wall adapter without an external pre-regulator. Over-temperature and over-voltage protection are on-chip — no external supervisor needed for basic fault coverage.
