Single-cell Li-Ion charger with I²C control
The I²C interface lets a host controller set charge current, termination voltage, and safety timer — useful when the charge profile must adapt to battery chemistry or temperature in real time.
1.25 A charge current and fault protection
The constant-current charge phase is programmable via I²C up to 1.25 A. At that current, the 20-bump DSBGA package relies on the PCB copper pour for heat spreading — the thermal pad on the back of the package must be soldered to a solid ground plane to keep junction temperature below the 125°C limit. Built-in over-voltage and over-temperature protection shut down the charger if the battery or die exceeds safe limits. The safety timer is also programmable, so a stuck battery or failed thermistor won't leave the charger pumping current indefinitely.
Active production — no LTB pressure
Supplied in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) for the 20-DSBGA package. The DSBGA bumps are on a 0.5 mm pitch — a stencil with 0.3 mm aperture and a reflow profile matching the JEDEC MSL-1 rating are recommended for assembly yield.
