With 1-3 cell support and a battery pack voltage ceiling of 12.6V, this part fits 3S Li-ion, 2S Li-Po, or single-cell LiFePO4 stacks. A 4S pack at 16.8V exceeds the rating — you'd need a different charger IC. The constant-current charging mode is programmable, so you set the charge current with an external resistor — the datasheet typical application shows a 10 kΩ resistor for 1 A, but the actual current limit depends on the sense resistor and thermal budget.
