1-cell Li-Ion charger with USB input and 1.5A max
The BQ24076RGTT is a Texas Instruments linear charger IC designed for single-cell lithium-ion battery packs. It accepts power from a USB port and delivers a constant-charge current up to 1.5A to the battery. The 16-VQFN package (3x3 mm) with exposed pad helps pull heat away from the die during fast charging. The battery termination voltage is set at 4.4V, which is above the standard 4.2V Li-ion full-charge point — verify your cell's maximum voltage before committing to the BOM. The device includes programmable charge current and timer, giving you control over the charge profile. For a 1-cell Li-Po battery with a 4.2V termination, the BQ24076RGTT will overcharge the cell to 4.4V unless the system limits the charge termination externally. Confirm that your battery's charge voltage tolerance includes 4.4V, or you risk reducing cycle life.
Protection suite and thermal range
Four fault protections are built in: over-temperature, over-voltage, reverse current, and short circuit. The over-voltage clamp prevents the input from exceeding 6.4V, which protects the charger from USB bus spikes. The reverse-current block stops the battery from back-driving the input when USB power is removed. The wide range also gives margin for self-heating at 1.5A charge current.
Sourcing posture and package availability
Texas Instruments has not announced a discontinuance or last-time-buy window for this order code. We source to order — submit an RFQ with your target quantity and required date code window, and we will confirm availability and pricing at quote time.
Footprint and mounting details
Mounting is surface mount only. The 16-VFQFN exposed pad requires a via array under the pad to conduct heat to inner-layer copper.
