Single-cell Li-Ion charger with USB interface
It integrates fault protection against over-temperature, over-voltage, reverse current, and short-circuit conditions, reducing external component count on the charge path.
Charge current and thermal design
The 1.5 A maximum charge current is set via an external resistor, and the timer is programmable — useful for tailoring the charge profile to different cell capacities without firmware intervention. The 3×3 mm 16-VQFN package with exposed pad dissipates heat into the PCB copper plane; at 1.5 A continuous charge current, the pad area and thermal vias determine the junction temperature rise, especially above 85°C ambient.
