Charge current and termination voltage
The BQ24073RGTR delivers a programmable constant charge current up to 1.5 A and terminates at 4.2 V, matching the standard full-charge voltage for single-cell Li-Ion and Li-Po cells. The charge current is set with an external resistor; the timer is also programmable, giving the designer control over the charge profile without firmware overhead. Input supply maximum is 6.4 V, which provides headroom for USB bus voltage and includes over-voltage protection that shuts down the charger if the input exceeds the safe limit.
Protection set and thermal range
Integrated fault protection covers over-temperature, over-voltage, reverse current, and short circuit — this reduces external monitoring circuitry and simplifies the BOM for a portable device charger block.
