Single-cell Li-Ion charger with 28V input tolerance
The BQ24052DSQT is a linear charger IC for single-cell Lithium Ion/Polymer batteries, accepting a supply voltage up to 28V — that covers USB-C PD, 2S Li-ion input, or even a poorly regulated wall wart without needing an external pre-regulator. It charges a 4.2V battery pack at a programmable constant current up to 800mA, which means a typical 1000mAh cell can be charged in roughly 1.5 hours if the input supply can deliver the current. The USB interface simplifies connection to a standard USB port or a dedicated charger adapter — the IC handles the negotiation and current limiting internally.
Fault protection and temperature range
Built-in fault protection covers over-temperature, over-voltage, and short-circuit conditions — the IC shuts down or limits the charge cycle automatically, reducing the risk of battery damage or thermal runaway in a portable device. The junction temperature range is rated from 0°C to 125°C, which allows operation in warm enclosures or near a power-hungry processor without derating the charge current.
Package and footprint for compact designs
Housed in a 10-WFDFN with exposed pad, the supplier device package is 10-WSON measuring 2x2 mm — the small footprint and low profile suit space-constrained wearable or IoT designs.
Sourcing and lifecycle posture
Cut tape (CT) is also available for prototype builds.
