The BQ24025DRCR is a single-cell Li-ion/polymer linear charger from TI's bqTINY™-II family, with a maximum charge current of 500 mA. It terminates at 4.2 V, the standard full-charge voltage for most single-cell Li-ion/polymer chemistries. The charge current is programmable via an external resistor, and the timer provides a safety backup termination.

The exposed pad on the 10-VSON (3x3 mm) package helps pull heat out of the die when charging at the full 500 mA in a warm ambient. Fault protection includes over-temperature shutdown, which prevents the die from exceeding the safe junction limit if the ambient temperature rises or the thermal pad is not properly soldered to the PCB copper plane.
