1A charge current, 16.5V input ceiling
The BQ24014DRCRG4 is a single-cell linear charger from TI's bqTINY™ family, designed for Lithium Ion and Lithium Polymer battery packs. Its maximum charge current of 1A and maximum supply voltage of 16.5V cover the range from standard USB ports to unregulated wall adapters. The 1A rate is a practical ceiling for a linear charger in a 10-VSON package — above that, thermal dissipation in the pass element becomes the limiting factor, not the silicon.
Single-cell 4.2V termination, programmable timer
The charger terminates at a battery pack voltage of 4.2V, the standard full-charge threshold for most Li-Ion and Li-Polymer cells. Charge current and safety timer are programmable via external components, giving the designer control over charge rate and timeout duration.
This is a clean BOM line for new designs — no last-time-buy planning or alternate qualification needed.
10-VSON package with exposed pad
The device is supplied in a 10-VFDFN exposed-pad package, with the supplier device package designation 10-VSON (3x3). The package is surface-mount and ships in Tape & Reel, which is the expected format for automated pick-and-place assembly.
