Single-cell Li-Ion linear charger in a PowerTSSOP-20
The Texas Instruments BQ24007PWPR is a linear battery charger designed for single-cell Lithium Ion packs, delivering a constant charge current up to 1.2 A with programmable current and timer features.
Charge current and thermal budget
The 1.2 A maximum charge current is set by an external resistor; the timer and current limit are programmable via the CTRL and TIMER pins. At full current, the linear regulator drops the input-to-battery voltage as heat — the exposed pad's thermal connection to the board ground plane is critical to avoid overtemperature fault shutdown. Supply voltage can go up to 10 V, and the battery regulation voltage is fixed at 4.2 V — typical for single-cell Li-Ion termination.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent distribution
The BQ24007PWPR carries an Obsolete lifecycle status from Texas Instruments.
