Product details

Adjustable shunt reference with ±0.5% accuracy in SOT-23-3

The ±0.5% tolerance at 25°C places it a step above the standard ±1% grade — useful when the feedback divider in a switching supply or the threshold in an overvoltage comparator needs tighter regulation without moving to a fixed-voltage reference. Minimum cathode current is 35 µA, which means the reference stays in regulation with very little bias current. In a battery-powered feedback loop or a low-quiescent-current linear regulator, that 35 µA floor lets the designer keep the total supply draw under control. The output can sink up to 100 mA, so it can drive an optocoupler LED directly or power a small local load without a buffer transistor.

Output voltage range and temperature drift

Output voltage is adjustable from a 2.5 V minimum up to 36 V maximum, covering the common 3.3 V, 5 V, 12 V, and 24 V rail references.

Package, footprint, and ordering codes

The ATL431BIDBZR is supplied in a SOT-23-3 package, also listed as TO-236-3 / SC-59 / SOT-23-3. The base product number is ATL431; the 'B' grade indicates the ±0.5% tolerance tier. Surface-mount assembly with a standard SOT-23 footprint; no thermal pad to route.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum cathode current for ATL431BIDBZR?

The minimum cathode current is 35 µA. The shunt reference requires at least this current to maintain regulation. Below 35 µA the output voltage may drift outside the ±0.5% tolerance band.
