Product details

3.3V bus receiver for RS-422/RS-485 links

The AM26LV32EIRGYR: The four independent receivers each feature 35 mV of hysteresis to reject noise on long cable runs.

Supply rail and 5V logic compatibility

This part is not a 5V-tolerant receiver. If the host UART or controller runs on 5V, the AM26LV32's output high level (VOH at 3.3V) may not meet the 5V logic input threshold. A level shifter or a 5V-compatible receiver is needed. The 35 mV hysteresis is built-in, so no external Schmitt trigger is required on the output side.

Package and thermal pad routing

The supplier device package is 16-VQFN (4x3.5). The four receiver inputs are differential pairs; keep trace lengths matched and route away from switching supplies.

For BOM planning, the base product number AM26LV32 covers multiple package and temperature options, so a second-source within the family is straightforward if the VQFN footprint is acceptable.

Frequently asked questions

Is AM26LV32EIRGYR compatible with 5V logic?

Direct connection to a 5V logic input may not meet the Vih threshold. Use a level translator or select a 5V-tolerant receiver variant if the host controller runs at 5V.
