Quad differential receiver for 3.3 V RS-422/RS-485 buses
It accepts differential input signals and converts them to single-ended logic levels, with four independent receivers in a single 16-SOIC package. The 50 mV of built-in hysteresis rejects noise on the bus lines, reducing the risk of false triggering in electrically noisy environments like factory-floor cabling or backplane interconnects.
The receiver inputs are differential and tolerate common-mode voltages within the RS-422/RS-485 spec, but the single-ended output is referenced to the 3.3 V rail. For a 5 V-tolerant receiver, look at the AM26C32 family instead.
If the design must survive a cold start or a hot factory floor, select the industrial-temperature variant from the same base family.
