Quad RS422/RS485 receiver for 3.3V differential buses

Supply voltage and 5V compatibility
It is not rated for 5V supply operation — feeding 5V to the VCC pin exceeds the absolute maximum. For 5V RS485 buses, a level translator or a 5V-rated receiver (such as the AM26C32 family) is needed. The receiver inputs are differential and tolerate common-mode voltages beyond the supply rails, but the output logic levels swing to VCC, so a 3.3V microcontroller or UART is the natural partner.
Receiver-only — no driver on chip
With 0 drivers and 4 receivers, the AM26LV32CDG4 is a pure receive-side device. For bidirectional RS485 networks, a separate driver (e.g., SN65LBC176 or a full transceiver like SN65HVD3082E) must be added. The 50 mV hysteresis reduces the chance of output chatter on idle or lightly loaded buses, which is useful when the cable is long or the termination is imperfect.
