Quad RS-422/RS-485 driver for 3.3V differential buses
It packs four drivers in a single 16-SOIC package, each capable of driving a differential bus at 3.3V nominal supply. This part is the driver-only half of a transceiver pair; you pair it with a quad receiver like the AM26LV32 for a full bidirectional RS-485 node.
Supply and temperature range — the fit envelope
If your bus controller or UART outputs 5V logic, you need level translation on the driver inputs. This is not a commercial-grade part; it is specified for the full -55°C to 105°C window.
There is no NRND notice, no last-time-buy window, and no announced end-of-life. For a new design entering production, this means you can qualify the part without stocking for an imminent phase-out. The EP suffix indicates the enhanced-product (military temperature) variant, which tends to have longer production runs than commercial-grade siblings.
PCB layout — standard SOIC-16 footprint
No exposed thermal pad, no special via pattern. The supply decoupling should follow the usual 0.1 µF ceramic per supply pin, placed close to the package. The differential output pairs (Y and Z per driver) should be routed with matched trace lengths and controlled impedance if the cable run exceeds a few meters.
