Quad RS-422/RS-485 line driver for 3.3V differential buses
It integrates four independent drivers in a single 16-SOIC package, with no receivers on-chip — this is a pure driver, not a transceiver.
The supply range of 3V to 3.6V means this driver is optimized for 3.3V rails. It is not a 5V-tolerant part on the supply side, so if your existing design uses a 5V bus, you will need a separate 3.3V rail or a level shifter. The inputs are 3.3V logic-level compatible; driving them from 5V logic without external clamping may exceed the absolute maximum ratings. For new designs running on a 3.3V supply, this part eliminates the extra components a 5V driver would require.
Housed in a 16-SOIC package with a 5.30mm body width (the wide-body SOIC-16), the AM26LV31EINSR uses a standard surface-mount footprint shared with many other RS-422/RS-485 interface ICs. If your board already has a land pattern for a wide SOIC-16, this part drops in without a layout change.
