Quad low-voltage RS-422/RS-485 line driver in 16-SOIC
It integrates four independent drivers in a single 16-SOIC package, with no receivers on-chip — this is a pure transmit-side interface device.
It is not a 5V-tolerant part; feeding it 5V on VCC exceeds the absolute maximum and will damage the device. If your existing RS-485 bus runs on a 5V rail, this driver needs its own 3.3V regulator or a level-shifting stage on the bus side. The part is a straight drop-in for 3.3V-only designs — quad drivers in the familiar 16-SOIC footprint, no external bias resistors needed for the driver outputs. Watch the common-mode voltage range on the differential outputs: at 3.3V supply the driver output swing is typically 2V differential into a 100Ω load, which meets RS-422/RS-485 signal levels for short-to-medium cable runs.
For a BOM planner this means standard procurement lead times through distribution, no urgency to stockpile, and no redesign pressure from obsolescence.
