The ADS8330IRSAT is a 16-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC from Texas Instruments, sampling at 1 MSPS. It accepts two input channels configurable as differential or single-ended, making it a fit for applications that need to digitise a sensor bridge or a pair of single-ended signals without an external mux. The external reference gives the designer control over the full-scale range, trading off LSB size against input span.
Package and thermal pad — layout checklist
Housed in a 16-VQFN Exposed Pad package (4×4 mm body), the ADS8330IRSAT requires a thermal land on the PCB. The SPI data interface keeps the digital routing clean: four wires (SCLK, SDI, SDO, CS) plus the reference and supply lines. At 1 MSPS the SCLK runs at 16 MHz minimum — keep the trace length under 50 mm and avoid vias on the clock line to maintain signal integrity.

The SAR architecture delivers no latency — each conversion completes in one clock cycle, so it tracks the input in real time without the pipeline delay of a sigma-delta converter.
