12-bit SAR ADC with a 500k SPS ceiling
The ADS7835EB/250 is a 12-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC from Texas Instruments, sampling at 500k samples per second over a single-ended input. That 500k SPS rate is the throughput limit the SPI bus has to keep up with — at 12 bits per conversion plus framing, the required SPI clock sits well within what most MCU SPI peripherals can deliver without a DMA engine.
Supply rails and reference flexibility
Both analog and digital supplies run from a single 5V rail, which simplifies the power tree — no separate AVDD and DVDD regulators needed. The reference can be driven externally or use the internal reference, so a precision external reference is optional depending on the accuracy target. The 1:1 S/H-to-ADC ratio means one sample-and-hold serves the single input, adequate for DC or low-frequency signals where simultaneous sampling isn't required.
