16-bit SAR ADC with 8-channel MUX and internal reference
The ADS7066IYBHT is a 16-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter from Texas Instruments, sampling at 250 kSPS across eight single-ended inputs via an integrated MUX-ADC architecture. It includes an internal oscillator for the conversion clock and supports both external and internal voltage reference options, giving flexibility in precision vs. BOM count. The SPI data interface keeps the pin count low on the 16-ball DSBGA package measuring just 1.62 mm square — a tight fit for space-constrained portable or industrial sensor modules.
Supply rails and temperature range for mixed-voltage systems
The analog supply runs from 3 V to 5.5 V, while the digital I/O supply is independent at 1.65 V to 5.5 V — this lets the ADC interface directly with a 1.8 V or 3.3 V host controller without external level shifters. Rated for -40°C to 125°C operation, the part covers automotive under-hood and industrial motor-drive ambient temperatures without derating.
Sourcing and lifecycle status
