16-bit delta-sigma modulator with 40k SPS throughput
The ADS1205IRGET is a 16-bit delta-sigma modulator from Texas Instruments, delivering 40k samples per second across two simultaneous channels. This places it in the precision industrial ADC front-end class — the 16-bit resolution and 40k SPS rate suit isolated current/voltage sensing in motor drives and power-monitoring applications where the modulator's serial bitstream feeds a digital filter in an FPGA or DSP.
The serial data interface keeps the pin count low; the modulator outputs a 1-bit data stream on a single DOUT line.
Package and board integration
Housed in a 24-VFQFN with exposed pad (4x4 mm body, supplier package 24-VQFN). The 0.5 mm pitch QFN demands a solder-paste stencil aperture of 75-80% of the pad area to avoid bridging; a 0.125 mm stencil thickness is typical for this pitch class.
Active lifecycle and compliance
ROHS3 compliant. For new designs, the active status means no last-time-buy risk through the current planning horizon.
