16-bit sigma-delta ADC with AEC-Q100 qualification for 125°C operation
It integrates a multiplexer, programmable gain amplifier (PGA), internal voltage reference, and an I²C interface into a 10-VSSOP package — the same footprint as the commercial ADS1115, so the board layout transfers directly. The PGA allows input ranges as low as ±256 mV full-scale, which lets the ADC resolve microvolt-level signals from resistive bridge sensors, thermocouples, or shunt resistors without an external amplifier. The internal reference eliminates a BOM component and the associated drift path. Sampling rate is 860 samples per second maximum — fast enough for most automotive sensor readouts (pressure, temperature, position) but not intended for audio or vibration capture above a few hundred hertz.
Supply range and input configuration for mixed-voltage domains
The multiplexer supports two differential inputs or four single-ended inputs (configured via the I²C register map). This is enough for a typical engine oil pressure + coolant temp + battery voltage monitor, or a single differential shunt-current measurement with a local temperature sensor on the spare channel.

The base product number ADS1115 covers a broad family of 16-bit ADCs sharing the same register map and pinout across commercial, industrial, and automotive temperature grades. The Q-suffix (AEC-Q100) and DGSRQ1 reel designation are the only differences from the commercial ADS1115IDGSR — a useful backup if the automotive grade is on allocation.
