The ADS1110A4IDBVR samples at 240 samples per second (SPS). That is a deliberate trade-off: the sigma-delta architecture and internal digital filter reject 50/60 Hz line noise well, so this part is suited for weighing scales, thermocouple interfaces, pressure transducers, and other slow-changing sensor outputs where noise-free readings matter more than throughput. With 16-bit resolution and the PGA, the effective resolution at lower gains can exceed 15 bits at 240 SPS. The PGA scales small differential signals (e.g., from a bridge sensor) before conversion, preserving dynamic range without an external op-amp.
