Single SPDT switch for signal routing
The Texas Instruments 74LVC1G3157DCKRE4 is a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) analog switch in a SC-70-6 package. It routes one common terminal to either of two independent outputs, controlled by a digital select line. The 300 MHz -3dB bandwidth and 15 Ohm max on-resistance make it a fit for analog signal multiplexing in RF paths, audio routing, and data acquisition front-ends.
The 300 MHz bandwidth means the switch passes signals up to VHF without significant attenuation — useful for video, IF strips, or high-speed comparator outputs. The 15 Ohm on-resistance introduces a voltage divider with the load impedance; for a 50 Ohm system the insertion loss is about 0.5 dB, which is acceptable for many RF paths but needs to be budgeted in the gain plan. Channel-to-channel matching of 100 mOhm keeps the insertion loss consistent between the two legs. Switch times of 5.7 ns on and 3.8 ns off support switching rates well above 10 MHz, though the charge injection of 7 pC will couple a small glitch onto the signal — relevant for sample-and-hold or precision ADC front-ends where the hold capacitor sees that charge as a voltage step.
The 1.65 V to 5.5 V single-supply range covers 1.8 V, 2.5 V, and 3.3 V logic families without a separate level translator.
The SC-70-6 package is a common footprint, so the reel can be stored alongside other small-signal switches without special handling beyond standard MSL precautions.
