Single-gate buffer with a 1.65 V floor — what that means for mixed-voltage buses
The Texas Instruments 74LVC1G125DRLRG4 is a single-bit, non-inverting buffer with a 3-state output, built on the 74LVC logic family. Its supply range from 1.65 V to 5.5 V means it can sit on a 1.8 V FPGA bank and still drive a 3.3 V peripheral without a level shifter — the output high level tracks VCC, so the receiving end sees the correct logic threshold. The 32 mA source and sink capability at both rails gives it enough fan-out for a half-dozen CMOS loads or a single LED indicator without an external transistor.
The wide temperature grade also covers the thermal rise inside a sealed enclosure where ambient can hit 85°C plus self-heating.
SOT-553 footprint — board-area trade-off
The SOT-553 package (five leads, 1.6 mm × 1.6 mm typical body) is one of the smallest available for a single-gate logic device.
For a procurement decision, that removes the single-source risk that comes with NRND or obsolete parts — the BOM line can be committed without a lifetime-buy calculation.
