Housed in a 24-TSSOP surface-mount package (0.173" body width), it fits dense PCB layouts common in industrial control, telecom line cards, and test equipment.
The 3-state outputs let multiple buffers share a common bus without contention — the output enable control per element isolates the bus when the buffer is not selected. This is the same architecture used in memory-mapped peripheral interfaces where address decoding gates the buffer.
ROHS3 compliant, so it meets current EU environmental directives without requiring a lead-free transition plan. The 24-TSSOP package is a standard surface-mount footprint, widely second-sourced across the 74ACT family.
