68 µH wirewound for DC-DC filtering and signal conditioning
The Taiyo Yuden LBC2518T680K is a 68 µH wirewound inductor in the LB, C Type series, built for surface-mount assembly in power and signal paths where a moderate inductance value and compact footprint are required. Rated for 140 mA continuous current with a DC resistance of 2.8 Ohm, this part suits low-to-medium current rails in DC-DC converters, input/output filters, and noise suppression circuits where the DCR-induced voltage drop and I²R loss are acceptable at the rated load. The unshielded construction means the magnetic field radiates beyond the core — board placement should keep sensitive traces or adjacent magnetics at a distance to avoid coupling.
Frequency ceiling and temperature envelope
Self-resonant frequency is 9.5 MHz — above this point the inductor behaves capacitively, so the switching frequency of the converter should stay well below that ceiling to maintain inductive impedance. Operating temperature spans -25°C to 105°C, covering most indoor and industrial ambient ranges but not extended automotive or high-temp environments. Inductance is tested at 2.52 MHz with ±10% tolerance, meaning the actual value at DC or at the circuit's operating frequency will shift — account for the tolerance band in the filter cutoff or ripple current calculation.
Active production — stable supply for BOM planning
Supplied in tape-and-reel packaging for automated pick-and-place assembly, consistent with high-volume SMT lines.
