What the 50 mA current rating means for your BOM
The LBC2518T471M is a 470 µH drum-core wirewound inductor from Taiyo Yuden's LB, C Type series, rated for 50 mA continuous current. If your load pulls more than 50 mA, the inductance starts to roll off and the core may saturate. The unshielded construction means the magnetic field couples into nearby traces and components — keep sensitive analog or RF circuitry at least one package width away from the 1007 (2518 Metric) footprint.
NRND — what it means for procurement
The part is still orderable but should not be designed into new boards — existing production can continue while supply lasts. For a BOM line already using this 470 µH value in a 1007 package, the NRND status means the procurement window is finite.
Self-resonant frequency and test conditions
The self-resonant frequency is 3.5 MHz — above that frequency the inductor behaves capacitively. Inductance is tested at 796 kHz, which is well below the SRF and within the operating band for typical DC-DC converter switching frequencies (100 kHz to 1 MHz).
