47 µH drum core wirewound — what the ratings mean for your filter or DC-DC stage
The LBC2016T470M is a 47 µH unshielded wirewound inductor in a surface-mount 0806 (2016 Metric) package, part of Taiyo Yuden's LB, C Type series. The ferrite core and drum-core construction give it a self-resonant frequency of 11 MHz, which means it stays inductive well above the switching frequencies of most buck converters and EMI filters in this inductance range. The 110 mA current rating is the DC current at which the inductance typically drops by 10% due to core saturation — not a thermal limit. The actual temperature rise is governed by the 4.3 Ohm DCR, so in a 105°C ambient the I²R loss at 110 mA (52 mW) keeps the self-heating within a few degrees, but the DCR also sets the resistive loss floor for any low-voltage rail.
NRND lifecycle — sourcing for existing BOMs
This means the part is still available for existing production but is not intended for new board spins — the manufacturer may discontinue it without a long last-time-buy window. For current BOM positions, we source this inductor through independent distribution.
