33 µH wirewound inductor for DC-DC and filter stages
The Taiyo Yuden LBC2016T330K is a wirewound inductor in the LB, C Type series, offering 33 µH ±10% inductance in an 0806 (2016 metric) surface-mount package. With a DC resistance of 2.8 Ohm and a current rating of 135 mA, this unshielded inductor is suited for power-supply filtering, DC-DC converter output stages, and signal-path choke applications where the load current stays within the 135 mA ceiling.
Current rating and DCR — thermal budget in the BOM
The 135 mA current rating is specified at the listed operating temperature range (-25°C to 105°C). At full rated current, the 2.8 Ohm DCR produces a copper loss of about 51 mW — modest for an 0806 footprint, but the temperature rise inside a dense PCB assembly should be checked against the 105°C upper limit. The self-resonant frequency of 14 MHz means the inductor behaves inductively well below that point; above 14 MHz, parasitic capacitance dominates and the impedance rolls off.
Active lifecycle and procurement posture
The 0806 footprint is a standard size, so second-source equivalents from other manufacturers (same inductance, current, and DCR) can be qualified without a board spin.
