2.2 µH drum core — what the ratings mean for a DC-DC rail
The LBC2016T2R2M is a 2.2 µH unshielded drum-core wirewound inductor from Taiyo Yuden's LB, C Type series. The 70 MHz self-resonant frequency sits well above the switching frequency of most point-of-load converters (typically 500 kHz to 2 MHz), so the inductor behaves as a pure inductance in that band and the parasitic capacitance between windings does not kick in until well above the noise floor.
NRND — what it means for a repair bench or a new BOM
That means the manufacturer still makes it for existing production and repair orders, but they are not taking new design wins — the part is on a glide path to end-of-life, and a future PCN will announce the final LTB date. For a rework bench pulling a dead inductor off a power rail, NRND is manageable — the part is still orderable, and the 0806 footprint is common enough that a functional swap from another manufacturer's 2.2 µH unshielded wirewound series is straightforward if the DCR and current rating match. For a new BOM, the NRND flag means you should qualify a second source now rather than chase a last-time-buy later.

The ferrite core is unshielded, so the magnetic field extends beyond the package body — adjacent traces carrying sensitive analog signals or high-impedance nodes should be kept at least one package width away to avoid coupled noise. The ±20% tolerance on the 2.2 µH value is typical for power-grade ferrite-core inductors; the inductance drops as the DC bias approaches the 520 mA rating, so the effective inductance at full load may be 10-15% lower than the nominal value — budget this into the output ripple calculation for a buck converter.
