1 µH, 690 mA, 100 mOhm — the LB series workhorse
The Taiyo Yuden LBC2016T1R0M is a drum-core wirewound inductor in the LB, C Type series, packing 1 µH inductance with a 690 mA current rating and 100 mOhm DC resistance. Unshielded construction means the magnetic field extends beyond the body — keep it away from sensitive traces or other magnetics on the board, or the coupling will shift the inductance down. The 0806 (2016 Metric) footprint is a common size for power-supply filtering and DC-DC converter output chokes, and the ferrite core handles the 7.96 MHz test frequency cleanly.
NRND — plan the BOM migration now
Taiyo Yuden has marked this part Not Recommended for New Designs (NRND). It is still orderable for existing builds, but the manufacturer is signalling a phase-out — do not spin a new board around this inductor.
Board-fit checklist
Self-resonant frequency at 100 MHz means the inductor behaves as an inductor well above the switching frequencies of common buck converters — the SRF is not a limit for 1-2 MHz switchers.
