The LBC2016T101M: This means the part is still available for existing production runs but is not intended for new board layouts — the manufacturer is winding down support. For a BOM that already uses this 100 µH unshielded inductor, the NRND flag does not trigger an immediate last-time buy, but it does mean the supply window is finite. Sourcing through independent distribution remains viable; availability is confirmed at RFQ.
Parametric fit: inductance, current, and DC resistance
Rated 100 µH at 796 kHz test frequency with a ±20 % tolerance — the inductance tolerance is wide enough that a batch shift of 15 % still lands inside spec, but the DCR of 8 Ohm sets a hard ceiling on the current that can flow before the I²R loss becomes significant. Above 75 mA the core saturates and the inductance collapses, so this part is sized for low-current signal filtering, not power rail smoothing.
Construction, package, and board-fit
Unshielded drum-core wirewound construction on a ferrite core. The self-resonant frequency is 8 MHz. Above that frequency the inductor behaves capacitively, so the 100 µH value is only valid below 8 MHz. In a 1 MHz switching regulator output filter, the margin is comfortable; at 10 MHz the part stops being an inductor.
