The LBC2012T4R7M is a 4.7 µH unshielded drum-core wirewound inductor in the 0805 (2012 Metric) surface-mount package, part of Taiyo Yuden's LB, C Type series. Rated for 295 mA DC with a DCR of 500 mOhm, the I²R loss at full current is about 43 mW — the part stays cool in most signal-path and low-power rail filtering roles. The ferrite core and wirewound construction give it a self-resonant frequency of 45 MHz, so it behaves as an inductor well into the HF band before parasitic capacitance takes over.
Current, resistance, and temperature limits
The 295 mA current rating is the DC current at which the inductance typically drops by 10% due to core saturation — stay below this for the full 4.7 µH value. 500 mOhm DCR at 25°C means a 150 mV drop at rated current; the voltage drop and power loss double if ambient temperature pushes the winding resistance up. Operating range from -40°C to 105°C covers most environments short of direct engine-bay mounting — the ferrite core material holds its permeability across this band.
