10 µH, 200 mA — the BOM-fit numbers
The LBC2012T100M is a 10 µH unshielded wirewound inductor in the 0805 (2012 Metric) footprint, built on a ferrite drum core. The 200 mA current rating is the DC bias limit — above this the inductance begins to roll off as the core saturates, so the circuit must stay within that ceiling for the inductor to hold its value. The 1.2 Ohm DCR at 200 mA produces an I²R loss of 48 mW — negligible in most circuits, but worth checking if the inductor sits in a high-ambient or tightly enclosed board where the temperature rise adds up. A 40 MHz self-resonant frequency means the inductor behaves inductively up to roughly 4-8 MHz in practice (10-20% of SRF); above that the parasitic capacitance dominates and the impedance turns capacitive. The 2.52 MHz test frequency is the standard measurement condition for this inductance value.
NRND — plan the BOM migration now
This means the part remains available for existing production but should not be specified into a new BOM. For an existing design already using this inductor, the NRND status is a watch item — plan a qualification cycle for a replacement before the manufacturer issues an end-of-life notice. The 0805 footprint and 10 µH / 200 mA target are common enough that a parametric substitute from another series or vendor is feasible.
Footprint and board integration
The unshielded construction means the inductor's magnetic field extends beyond the package — adjacent traces carrying sensitive analog signals or high-speed edges should be kept at least one part-width away to avoid coupling. Operating temperature spans -25°C to 105°C, which covers most indoor and sheltered industrial environments but not extended automotive or under-hood duty. The ±20% tolerance is wide — the circuit design must accommodate the full spread, particularly if the inductor sets a filter corner frequency or a switching regulator's compensation.
