Sensitive-gate triac for low-current logic drive
The STMicroelectronics Z0107MA 1AA2 is a logic-level sensitive-gate TRIAC in a TO-92-3 through-hole package. Rated for 600 V off-state blocking voltage and 1 A RMS continuous on-state current, this part handles small AC loads such as resistive heaters, solenoid valves, fans, and incandescent lamps in 120 V or 240 V line-powered equipment.
600 V blocking, 1 A conduction — the load envelope
The 600 V off-state voltage (Vdrm/Vrrm) provides adequate margin for 120 VAC and 240 VAC mains applications, including the peak repetitive voltage transients typical in industrial environments. The 1 A RMS on-state current (It(RMS)) is the continuous load ceiling; for inductive loads like small motors or relays, derate to account for the inrush and the commutation dV/dt at turn-off. Non-repetitive surge current (Itsm) is rated at 8 A for 50 Hz and 8.5 A for 60 Hz — this covers the cold-filament inrush of a 100 W incandescent lamp or the start surge of a small transformer. The 10 mA maximum holding current (Ih) ensures the triac latches on once triggered and does not drop out prematurely at the zero-cross of a low-current load.
Industrial temperature range and through-hole assembly
The TO-92-3 (TO-226AA) through-hole package is hand-solderable and fits standard 0.100-inch pitch prototyping boards — a practical choice for low-volume production, repair, or retrofit where a surface-mount reflow step is not available.
